Betrayal of Jesus christ

Betrayal is a traumatic experience. A jealous friend, an adulterous husband, cheating wife, an alcoholic spouse, promiscuous partner, conniving relationship, a wayward child, are some of the most troubling experiences to deal with.

Jesus was betrayed by his own disciple Judas Iscariot in the Garden of Gethsemane, for a few silver coins.

No matter how patient one may be, betrayal hurts. And if the victim is not counselled early enough, betrayal can affect the person physically, and develop into dangerous health problems, like depressive inertia, and at worst, into a perpetual state of bitterness and apathy.

Misery is a course in our lives that must be experienced at all costs. But, it is important to remind ourselves (when we are in such situations) that the time will come to pass.

"Betrayal hurts, but we only have to be strong, with a tight belt around the waist ready to conquer the situation, because someone can easily end up committing suicide,” Anita Dusabe who was recently betrayed by her ex-fiancé said.

In this case, it is very important to identify your enemy. Unless one knows who they are fighting, they cannot strategize and any attempt at fighting back is an exercise in futility and a waste of resources.

Behind every attack on the children of God is man and God’s arch enemy, the devil.

After knowing who your enemy is, you will be able to equip yourself for the battle. For instance one knows what bullets and other resources both human and fiscal to employ.

Back to the Biblical saying, sometimes we do not need to attack our enemies physically, but to instead go on our knees in constant prayer. Some of us are not military strategists, but we have personal experience of the knee position, and we know for a fact that it is lethal to an unsuspecting enemy.

In such situations, one is dealing with life. It’s thus important to be aware with what is going on in your life and knowing how to deal with it. Put on the armour of God, fight a good battle and stand firm, He will never forsake you.
