Making New Yeas’ resolutions

With Christmas over, you can only hope to usher in 2010 in a ballistic style with New Year resolutions. Some teens choose only one resolution, ‘To have no resolution at all.” This is a resolution in itself but the danger it is that if you are not focused and responsible in your life, it’s bound to backfire in your face. ‘How do you know that you are responsible?’ you may ask.

If your parents still tell you to do obvious things like washing up, cleaning your room, reading books and you feel it’s a punishment then are still irresponsible. This means you need to have resolutions to counteract these issues.

A New Year resolution is simply a promise that you make and intend to fulfill before the year ends.

For starters, being disciplined and obedient in all areas of your life should be a number one resolution. You can resolve to be respectful and obedient towards your parents and other people.

If you stayed committed to this resolution then you will understand what respect means by the end of 2010.

Cleanliness too is an important resolution that you can make. If you resolve to stay clean you will protect yourself from getting sick.

Make a resolution that next year, you will bathe daily, keep your fingernails short, wash your hands always, learn to wash your underwear and keep your rooms clean and organised all the time.

Without forgetting the most important and quite difficult resolution of revising your books and doing your homework all year round, you will be on the right track towards success. When you do this, you will be surprised at how well your grades will have gone up.

Helping your parents at home shouldn’t miss on your resolution list. By the end of 2010, you should at least look back at what you have done throughout the year and see how impressed your parents are.

Since a healthy mind goes hand in hand with a healthy body, strive to be clean, helpful, study hard and while doing sports. With all this done, then Bingo! You will have fulfilled your resolutions.
