Kigali City has made an excellent move to release Rwf16.9 million for the compensation Jabana residents.

Although the compensation come a bit late compared to their but it gives assurance to the people that the government considers their concerns.

Depite the good move to compensate the Jabana resident, the government should as well launch and investigation into the use of mega explosives by a Chinese company to blast rocks at the quarry.

The explosives are said to have been so heavy that they damaged nearby buildings.

The stone quarry is also reported to be emitting dust and smoke, hence exposing residents to health hazards -- an issue that the government should as well look into.
