CAR Dev’t trophy

Rwanda vs Tanzania

After seeing off the Burundi in the last preliminary round, Silverbacks will now face a formidable opponent in Tanzania at the next phase of the Confederation of African rugby (CAR) Development trophy.

Rwanda’s Silverbacks beat Burundi’s Intambwe home and away to set up a mouth watering clash against the Tanzanians, who have never lost to Rwanda.

But Coach Gerald Nsenga reckons that his team now has the mentality to beat their opponents against whom they have lost twice in 2006 and 2007.

"The boys have improved a lot this year as was evidenced by their performance in the Makerere 10s and the Nakuru sevens and they now have the right mentality to take on the big boys in East Africa.

"We need to beat a good team like Tanzania and this will be the perfect opportunity,” a seemingly confident Nsenga said.

However, the Confederation of African Rugby is yet to confirm the dates of the two leg clash.
