It may be early into the league season and the usual title favourites still searching for the right footing but early season pace setters, Etincelles are enjoying life at the top of the table standing and for their coach, long may it continue.

In an interview with Times Sport, Rajab Bizumuremyi acknowledged that his intention is to lead his youthful side to a top four finish.

"We are topping the league because we have played and won all our league fixtures and we hope to maintain that run going. "The players are now motivated and they know what it demands to be ahead of clubs like APR, Atraco and Rayon Sport,” Bizumuremyi said.

Early season surprise package, Etincelles lead the table standing on 16 points with a record of five wins and a draw from six rounds of matches.

The youthful side continued their early season fine form, beating their local rivals Marines 2-1 in a Gisenyi derby at Umuganda stadium on Saturday.  Etincelles, promoted from the second division league is three points ahead of defending champions APR, Rayon Sport and Atraco who are jointly tied on 13 points each but separated on goal difference.

Then league leaders play away to Musanze this Saturday in their next league match.
