I’m totally in support of the Senates request that the new party, PS Imberakuri be forced to fully expound on their views. This is especially pertinent when one bears in mind that a member of the party may decide to run for the presidency next year.

While some observers might think that the Senate is overreaching itself, I think that it is being responsible.

It is curious that a party can blatantly refuse to answer accusations leveled against it before the Upper Chamber.

I ask myself; why? Is it trying to hide something and hoodwink the public about its true intentions? 

Earlier this month, the senatorial standing committee on political and governance affairs had summoned the party’s leader, Bernard Ntaganda, to explain his utterances in the media that sounded dangerously close to attempting to divide Rwandans.

One of the roles of the Senate is to follow up on the conduct of political parties in the country and its just doing its job.

However, I, as a concerned Rwandan, am slightly miffed by the fact that the Senate leader, Vincent Biruta, refused to reveal exactly what the nature of the allegations were in detail.

How can we, the general public, make our own judgment if we don’t know what Bernard Ntaganda utterances were? I think the good doctor should reveal all.
