RWAMAGANA – Police in Rwamagana district unearthed a drug trafficking ring, confiscating 500kgs of Marijuana and making multiple arrests, security officers said yesterday. According to a police informer, the illegal drugs were on transit to Kigali. One man, Rashid Ntakirutimana, 35, a resident of Munyiginya sector was arrested in connection with the drugs trade and confessed to selling the drugs to workers of the Cassiterite mines around the sector.

One man, Rashid Ntakirutimana, 35, a resident of Munyiginya sector was arrested in connection with the drugs trade and confessed to selling the drugs to workers of the Cassiterite mines around the sector.
According to sources, 500 Kgs would scoop the dealers no less than Rwf 10 million.
The same police operation also arrested Jean Claude Hakizimana and Yudita Mukagatare for possession of several liters of illicit brew locally known as Kanyanga.
All the three suspects are being held at the local police station as charges are prepared.
