It was meant to be a mega and first ever Christmas concert organised by Ice Cold, a local concert promoter.

But the year’s fiesta concert has been described as a disaster, as the much acclaimed regional artists; Nameless and Peter miles, who were invited specifically for the show did not appear, to the chagrin of most participants who had been waiting for them.

There was drama at the scene of Expo-grounds in Gikondo, when music fans flocked the venue anticipating to witness live performances from their favourite regional artists, but all in vain.

In an interview, the CEO of Ice Cold, Brad Rulinda told The New Times that, Nameless failed to come because KQ had canceled its direct flights to Kigali.

"The only alternative for him was to connect from Nairobi-Kampala and then to Kigali, which was a bit difficult,” adding, "I wouldn’t wish to comment anything about Peter Miles’ case.” 

Some revelers accused the organisers for not communicating earlier that the concert was canceled.

While others complained about availability of only one deejay, instead of hiring local artistes to perform. 

"At least the orgnisers would have hired local artists to perform,” said John Karenzi, one of the music fans who had attended the concert.

Though the situation seemed chaotic, organisers tried to calm down revelers by refunding their money and offering them free drinks. Later, things picked up and the crowd left with no regrets.

The entrance fee was Rfw5000 and Rfw10.000 for VIP. Meanwhile, Ice Cold has promised an extraordinary concert "Valentines Party”, come 2010.

"This time we have to make it happen,” Rulinda said.
