Yes, happy prosperous New Year. May you continue with the spirit of joy, giving, receiving and hope in 2010. On Friday, Christmas was celebrated the world over. The New Year is around the corner.

This is a time to reflect on this ending year. It’s a time to ponder the coming year. Many resolutions were set at the start of 2009 and many were not fulfilled or even many were surpassed depending on each individual.

It’s great that 2010 is peeping through the door, giving much hope of greater and better possibilities. The possibilities are definitely there.

If each one of us takes their destinies in their hands. Things will get better if we make clear resolutions. Resolutions that are SMART; specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-based.

If you don’t go SMART, then you are likely to gain nothing come next year.

We therefore should not rely on luck or hope for miracles. Let’s create our opportunities and let’s take those that avail themselves to us.
