Christmas messages from Gisimba’s children

Jean Kira, 17, Kabusunzu Secondary School, S.1. “Seven months ago, I learnt to make necklaces out of paper. I make them because I am looking for what to do since I do not like lazing around. When visitors come, they can buy them. When I am not here I love playing football. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.”

"Seven months ago, I learnt to make necklaces out of paper. I make them because I am looking for what to do since I do not like lazing around. When visitors come, they can buy them. When I am not here I love playing football.
I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.”

Ruth Niyonsaba, 16, APRED Ndera Secondary School.

"I know how to make necklaces, cards and also paint. I haven’t studied this year because of health problems. Because of the free time I have, I’ve kept busy to avoid getting bored and to help me relax my mind as well. I love singing, praying, making crafts and writing poems.

My Christmas message is that I am thankful that I have made it through this year.”

Jean Pierre Mbarushimana, 21, A.P.A.C.E Secondary School.

"When I paint and draw, I learn new things and become creative. I can then teach other children to do the same. They can learn new lessons too. I love playing football and reading books.

Christmas is a time when we become humble as we remember the birth of Jesus Christ. I appreciate that and I hope that the year will end very well. I wish every Rwandan a happy festive season.”

Innocent Nuwagaba, 16, Kabusunzu Secondary School, S.2.

"I like it when the Dormitory of Peace is kept clean and tidy. This Christmas I am excited that we are going to Lake Muhazi to have fun with other children. I thank those who made this possible and I wish a Merry Christmas to all Rwandans.”
