A total of 246 prison officers graduated Thursday after a three-months training programme as part of a strategy to build capacity and strengthen the infant force.
"Today we passed out 246 prisons personnel who have been at Duha training grounds for three months,” Mary Gahonzire, the Commissioner General for Prisons said.
The recruits were trained in prisons management ethics, general management skills, discipline drills, communication and customer care.
Gahonzire said that 28 of the recruits were women.
Rwanda National Police (RNP) helped conduct the training.
