The business programme is expected to enable potential and existing small business entrepreneurs to start viable businesses while increasing the viability and profitability of existing enterprises
The SIYB is a management training programme with a focus on starting and improving small businesses as a strategy for creating more and better developing economies.
According to Nambajimana Lamech, the ILO Officer in Rwanda, the programme is a cost effective method that will help in the development of the businesses in Rwanda which will create more employment opportunities.
During the launch, the trainees were awarded with certificates of attendance
"On behalf of Rwanda Development Board (RDB) we are committed to implement SIYB programme in Rwanda so as to improve the standards of living of the people by creating more employment opportunities” said Eusebe Muhikira Director of Entrepreneurship Development and Business Incubation at RDB
The SIYB programme has developed and licensed almost 300 master trainers globally based on several impact assessment and evaluations carried out in 2003, 2004 and 2007
The SIYB programme consists of three training packages including generate your business idea, start your business and improve your business.
