APR bounced back from defeat against Petro Atletico in dramatic fashion after beating Inter-club of Benin 99-80 in the quarter finals of the Fiba Africa Club Championship yesterday at Amahoro indoor stadium court.

The Indomitable Lions dominated in all quarters; 26-14, 24-19, 23-22, 26-24 with center forwards Isom Cedric and Mathew Miller grabbing 22 points and 18 points respectively.

APR now have a battle on their hands when they play defending champions Primeiro de Agosto of Angola this evening for a place in the final.

Coach Cliff Owuor was cautions of the impact of fatigue in such a high profile match, after resting most of his star players during the match against Inter-club.

He justified his decision saying, "I did not want any unnecessary injuries, because we had a comfortable win, and I also wanted my players to have enough rest before the Agosto match,” Owuor said.

Petro Atletico will play Congolese outfit Mazembe in the other semi-final match.

Meanwhile, before the semi-finals ties, there will be classification games to determine the rankings of the clubs.

ASPAC of Congo Brazzaville will play Co-operative Bank of Kenya, while Nigeria’s Kano Pillars will face Inter-club of Benin.
