Kiyovu Sports has suspended head coach Alain-André Landeut until further notice due to a poor run of results and misconduct.
Club president Juvenal Mvukiyehe announced the decision shortly after the Green Baggies’ lost 3-1 to Gasogi United in a crunch league tie held Sunday, November 27, at Kigali Stadium in Nyamirambo.
In a post-match interview with the media on Sunday, November 27, Mvukiyehe said that the Congolese tactician was suspended for failing to deliver results in the recent league games while also accusing him of orchestrating a bad atmosphere in the team's dressing room.
"We are not happy. That's why we have to make important decisions because sometimes the coach or anyone else can come and damage our team, do whatever they want and we can’t tolerate that because some of us invest a lot of money in this team," Mvukiyehe said.
Mvukiyehe is concerned by a bad atmosphere that the coach created in the dressing room as a number of players accuse him of not playing them with no clear tactical reason, something, he said, affects the club's results.
Times Sport understands that players were ot happy when the coach dropped Elissa Sekissabu for Sunday's game against Gasogi United.
Landeut could be sacked indefinitely and all will depend on what the club executive committee will decide after holding a meeting with the coach on Monday.
"He is not allowed to rejoin the group until he is informed about our final decision because too many things have become too much for us to handle,” Mvukiyehe noted.
"He has his contract and we know what we owe him. So we will make the best possible decision but we can’t continue like this,” he added
Landeut’s suspension comes just four months after he was appointed club head coach.
The club currently sit second place with 21 points, a point shy of table leaders Rayon Sports.
