In my own understanding, the concept competition may refer to the ability, creativity and willingness of an individual, organization or institution to provide high levels of quality services to its clients and this depends on  the country’s policies in dealing with investors and for Rwanda its no doubt, the investment climate is favourable.

It’s almost coming to a month when Tigo telecommunications begun its service provision in Rwanda and this has seen MTN give its customers bonus of air time worth Rwf1000, may be, sorry to those who have not yet received it but its coming.

It’s our turn to welcome Tigo in the market, so as to enjoy limited costs in phone calls in this revolution of technology since competition yields to good services.

With the integration into the EAC market, we need much more telecommunication companies so that one makes the choice other than monopoly of one company that may cheat its clients.

There are several opportunities to benefit from when a number of telecommunication companies come to Rwanda; spending less call costs, improved network coverage even up country and thus improved standards of living.

As many telecommunication companies wish to join the market, their centre of competition should be on quality service provision, customer care and reduced phone call rates.

This kind of competition will bring customers to make choice of telecommunication company(s) other than planning to counter fail each other.

Tigo becomes the third telecommunication company in Rwanda joining Rwanda tel and MTN Rwanda which for several years has enjoyed monopoly of the market hence hiked costs of phone calls to its customers although not knowing.

Therefore judging from the country’s low level of economy, there is need to have competitive investors in the service industry so that the costs are reduced with improved quality.

This kind of competition is seen to enable the poor people living in the upcountry areas afford to make phone calls with easy access.

Therefore comrades do not reject this telecom company before you try its services. I know most of us could be on MTN Rwanda, however all these telecom companies aim at making profits amidst their service provision.

As our country struggles to develop we need to break a way from monopolists such that there are a number of players in the field of development.

As we understand, development is a wide concept therefore my argument for competition is not restricted only to the service industry but ideal for every sector to develop and this helps every citizen make a shift to development.

As the world becomes a global village we need to engage in competition so as to have many more developers for instance a good building and construction company will always win construction tenders thus the development of the country.
