Don’t the MP’s have something better to do?

Editor,

I found it extremely amusing that the Honourable Members of Parliament actually sat down to debate whether there had to be a parliamentary dress code.

I mean, isn’t it obvious that someone shouldn’t enter the chambers in shorts and a t-shirt? Why then did the Members of the Lower Chamber of Parliament on Wednesday have to ‘agree’ to observe at least ‘decent levels’ of dressing?

It was funny to read that they "could not settle for a standard dress code that would define what the MPs should wear or not”.

Seriously? We have a lot of issues that the MP’s should be struggling with, but they decide to waste our tax monies talking about what constitutes ‘proper dressing”?

I’m disappointed in them. Thank you New Times for giving us this interesting story.
