The long-awaited Miss Rwanda finale comes to an end this Friday December 18, at Gikondo Expo grounds, starting 6 p.m. The venue will see a total of 14 finalists eager to become Miss Rwanda 2009. The master of ceremony for Miss Rwanda event is the renowned Dr. Mitch of Tusker Project Fame and M-Net’s Deal or no Deal series.

The venue will see a total of 14 finalists eager to become Miss Rwanda 2009.
The master of ceremony for Miss Rwanda event is the renowned Dr. Mitch of Tusker Project Fame and M-Net’s Deal or no Deal series.
And a line-up of stirring local artists, including Aaron Niyitunga and his band, The Ben, Lisa, Solange and Rosette—and a contemporary dance featuring the 14 beauty finalists will grace the event.
Finalists have been undergoing a month-long boot camp which started in Kivu Serena Hotel in Rubavu for intensive training on Rwanda’s culture, economy, history and eloquence.
"The Miss Rwanda 2009 will walk away with a brand new Grand Vitara car, courtesy of Rwandatel, one year membership at Maisha SpaSerena Hotel, hair styling by Keza saloon, a year’s supply of fuel from Merez international, scholarship from Hooters of America, airtime on-net, and a mobile data,” Rwandatel’s Corporate Communications Manager Cleophas Kabasiita told The New Times.
Kabasiita added that the first runner-up will have roundtrip to Johannesburg, airtime on net, mobile internet subscription for a year, a weekend at Serena Kivu, and other prizes worth $10,000.
The 2nd runner-up will also have a roundtrip to Cairo, airtime on net, mobile internet subscription for six months, a weekend at Serena Kivu, and other prizes valued $5000.
Contestants will catwalk in four different outfits designed by Uganda’s Sylvia Owori of Sylvia’s boutique and African Woman Magazine and I. Rugege.
Tickets go for Rfw10, 000 and Rfw20, 000 for VIP, and are on sale at all Rwandatel service centres.
Rwandatel is the main sponsor and sole organizer in partnership with Ministry of Sports and Culture.
