Despite losing to Uganda Cranes in the Orange Cecafa Challenge Cup final, National football federation (Ferwafa) boss Brig. Gen. Jean Bosco Kazura believes the future of Rwandan football is very bright.

A young and inexperienced Amavubi side was undone by two mistakes in either half which gifted the Cranes a 2-0 win.

But despite the loss, Kazura thinks that the experience and exposure that the youthful Amavubi team got after two weeks of competition will serve them better in the future.

"We should look beyond the results. We are grooming these boys for the future. Most of them are in the Under 20 team and were playing in Cecafa for the first time, but every body has been impressed by their ability. 

"The experience that they have gained from this competition will serve them better in the future,” Kazura said.

Rwanda got $20.000 as first runners-up. The team returned in the country on Monday evening. Meanwhile Kazura is coy about whether he intends to stand for re-election as Ferwafa president.

The elections are set for December 27 and the chief  Executive Officer of ferwafa Jules Kalisa  is set to announce the names of the aspirants today.
