NGOMA-Following a successful appeal against an earlier abortive match, Kayonza district last week emerged winners of the basketball champions in a replay against Ngoma that ended 59 – 57.

The game was a return match following the earlier abortive game that Kayonza abandoned on allegations of a ‘fake coach’ with no accreditation and bribery. Kayonza had successfully lodged a complaint to the Basketball federation that ordered a return match.

In the return match last week, Kayonza emerged as winner that would represent the province at the national competitions slated for next month in Kigali.

Kayonza dominated the first half leading by ten points ahead of Ngoma that had eighteen points.

The second half appeared changed in favor of Ngoma leading with fifteen points clear ahead Kayonza who had 57points.

However in what funs described as surprising, Ngoma suffered a set back letting Kayonza catch up to equalize the points.

The two scores by Valerie seconds to the final whistle dealt a final blow to Ngoma which had tried to dominate almost the whole second half as Mukurarinda’s side won.
