The festive season is around the corner—and let’s all agree on this, almost everyone wishes to look glamorous. Jewellery, outfits, and makeup, they are all in plenty and set to flatter the wearers.

Whatever your thoughts, try to workout your wardrobe, shoe-rack, hair, makeup to improve your looks this season.

Of course, to some people this means nothing but to most, good looks are definitely the emphasis, especially this season.

"Last Christmas, just a few people wanted to be glitzy,” says Anita Kayitesi, a Kisementi based hairstylist.
"But I think people are feeling a little better now, and they want to have a little fun, to be a little frivolous.”

For one to achieve the good looks one has to have a sense of fashion, know what suits their skin tone, and what makes them comfortable.

Hair

"Naturally, women/girls want to look and feel beautiful by wearing pretty hairstyles,” says Jolie Uwera, owner of Jolie Beauty Salon in Nyamirambo.

Uwera, a.k.a Mama Bebe, says she and her salon team spend a "big part” of their time with clients on education -- defining their hair type, facial shape and what exactly they want the hair to do, and working with them to come up with the best style possible.

"I try to always encourage people to know the best hair style that suits them,” she laughs. "But special-occasion hair should be fun and not over-styled.”

For a really big occasion, add a quick and simple braid. It adds something unique to hair, both when it’s worn down with hair that has added waves, or when it’s pinned up, leaving a random braid out here and there -- it’s just a really fun look.

Make-up

When it comes to make-up, Sandrine Nyirahabineza, a beautician says, "By doing just a basic eye to start, you can really transform make-up by adding a strong lip-gloss to keep your lips soft and fresh.”

"The key for this season is rock,” Nyirahabineza says with emphasis. "Make a statement. Add pop with a red or rosy pink lip. If you want to emphasize the eye, add colour or sparkle. Whatever you do, make it festive.”

Jewelleries

For the jewelleries, silver shimmers all year long, this season add a special bluster to even the most common metals.

This season, silver proves an easy go-to companion that can always be relied upon for a shine of icy sophistication.

"Gold makes some people nervous, but silver never does,” says Anita Umbabazi. "I have heard people who claim that gold looks common, when, in reality, silver is far more common and very affordable!”

Clothes

After all is said, try to match your accessories with your attire and shoes. And if all you are interested in a dash of silver accessories – dress, shoes, make-up-- to make your statement.
