Journalists from the region have picked particular interest in the Rwandan side and even Cecafa officials have praised the team but one person, who could not hide his thrill, is Zimbabwe coach Norman Mapeza. He said, "Rwanda is a very organized team, they’re playing probably some of the best football in this tournament.”
Somalia gets Cecafa praise
Despite going home early, Cecafa’s Secretary General Nicolas Musonye believes that Somalia has been the most improved team amongst the 12 teams that graced the 33rd Orange Cecafa Challenge Cup tournament.
"Somalia, despite going out early, have showed tremendous improvement. I think they’re the most improved team,” Musonye told a press briefing held at Nyayo stadium Sunday morning.
Somalia, who were in the same group with Rwanda, Zimbabwe and Eritrea, lost all their group games and have to wait for 2010 to break their preliminary stage jinx in the regional competition in over two decades.
