YUSSUF Ndayishimiye scored his second goal of the tournament to make sure that Amavubi ended their Group B campaign on a high.

The Rayon Sport midfielder’s first-half strike left Rwanda at the summit of the group at the on-going Orange Cecafa challenge Cup in Kenya.

Amavubi, under the tutelage of AS Kigali Coach Eric Nshimiyimana went into the game already assured of a quarter-final slot following back to back victories over Eritrea (2-1) and Somalia (1-0).

Rwanda now has nine points while Cosafa champions Zimbabwe remained on four points after yesterday’s loss.

With Eritrea having to play Somalia shortly after the Amavubi-Zimbabwe game, the Cosafa champions (one of two guest teams at the tournament) were still uncertain of their place in the last eight.

The Red Sea Boys walked into yesterday’s game on the back of a point earned after their goalless Zimbabwe three days ago but were also well aware that a big win would see them sneak into the knock-out stage.

Rwanda will now play against one of the second best qualified teams from the other two groups. Today is a rest-day.
