Tusker Project Fame III crew, and the South African Band, are all set to rock MTN’s 6th ‘TUWUKATE Concert,’ set for today, 2 p.m at Amahoro stadium.
During a press conference held at Amahoro Stadium, MTN’s Brand and Sponsorship Manager Rachel Mulinde said that this year’s ‘TUWUKATE Concert,’will be much bigger and better than previous ones.
"The stage setting is perfect. The sound system and lights are of high quality, and the performers are hilarious,” Mulinde said.
She added that this year event is not only aimed at celebrating 2009, but also to celebrate the rise of the Rwanda’s music industry.
According to Mulinde, MTN Rwanda invited the TPF III crew because MTN wants to promote regional music especially now that Rwanda is a member of the East Africa Community.
"I’m so excited to visit Rwanda,” Illuminata from Tanzania said. "It’s beautiful and extremely clean.”
Commenting about her relationship in the house with her TPF housemate Rwanda’s Christian, Illuminata said that there was no "chemistry” but was only attracted to him because they both spoke French.
This year’s TPF surprise winner, Alpha Rwirangira promised to surprise his fans. "I’m working on a couple of songs, watch out for my new collection,” Rwirangira said.
MTN will also award the best performers and prizes include a one year recording contract with Rafiki Records, an air ticket and hotel accommodation during the World Cup finals in SA.
