KARONGI – Police in Bwishyura sector are hunting for suspects who brutally murdered a 60-year old night watchman in Rubengera sector, Karongi district.

Elisha Munyantore, who was at the time of his death was on guard, was allegedly hit with a huge stone on the head when he had dosed off in the wee hours of Tuesday.

Police said Munyantore died instantly after being hit by the unknown thugs who later took off with cash and various items from the shops.
"The thugs stole unknown sums of money and other commodities like sugar, rice, cooking oil and beverages,” police said.

The two retail shops which were robbed belong to Elias Ntakirutimana and Ismael Harinditwari.
