Woman arrested over drug trafficking

The police in Nyabihu district are holding a 28-year old woman identified as Maria Uwimbabazi who was arrested on Monday over hiding drugs under her undergarments.

Supt Felix Bizimana of the National Police said that Uwimbabazi, a mother of two was reported by the residents after she tried to flee the area.

She was also found with over 600 sachets of marijuana in her house. She immediately pleaded guilty of the offence.

Sector officials to be held accountable

Vincent Karega, the State Minister in charge of Environment and Mines has said the Manyange sector officials will be answerable for the poor environment state in sector.

Karega said the government has offering a lot to the sector to combat the desertification that is rampant in the sector but blamed sector officials for not duly executing their responsibilities.

He issued the warning yesterday while touring the sector together with REMA officials.

Taxi operators want traffic lights repaired 

Taxi operators plying the Nyamirambo route in Kigali City have called upon relevant authorities to repair the traffic lights between BCR and ORINFOR premises in Kigali. 

The call was made yesterday morning after a taxi from Nyamirabo collided with another taxi leaving two passengers major terrible injuries.
