Daily I watch under-age Rwandan girls carrying babies on their backs. They strive to live a normal life but they are beaten at it. They lack support from all angles of the society.

First of all the Rwandan culture does not tolerate them. If their attempts to abort fail, they must endure the ache of supporting their babies, at all costs.

Walking on the roads, they beg for money and look for scanty odd jobs to feed their already malnourished children.

I call for any organizations responsible for child rights and women rights to take the plight of these child mothers seriously.

Most of them did not choose to take this path in life, but were probably abused, raped and chased away from their homes. What’s done is done, and as caring people we should not give these young girls a blind eye.

Lets help these child mothers our very own, after all the slogan, "Treat every child like your own,” is the song of the day.
