FOLLOWING Rwanda’s steady progress in the cycling world, the local cycling federation (Ferwacy) now has plans of setting up a cycling center.
The Ferwacy president Aimable Bayingana yesterday revealed to Times Sport that the federation has presented their proposal to UCI’s head of national federations Dominique Raymond.
"She liked the idea and even promised to back in before the International Cycling Union (UCI),” Bayingana said.
Bayingana also hopes to garner support from the government.
Among other things, the cycling center will be a venue to train riders, coaches and commissaries not only from within but also from East and Central Africa.
Presently, the only cycling center in Africa is found in South Africa.
