ADRIEN Niyonshuti concedes that Moroccans dominated this year’s Tour of Rwanda because of their superior experience and technique.

Adil Jelloul won the coveted yellow jersey while his team-Morocco Cycling team swept the team top prize of the eight-stage event which covered a distance of 1096km.

In an exclusive interview with Times Sport, the South African based rider noted that it was always going to be a tough job to wrestle the experienced Moroccans.

"The entire team was full of professionals who ride a minimum of three races a month,” he said.

"They also used a very good strategy. Jelloul won the first stage convincing and from then, he only needed to preserve his time to make sure that he finished first and he did just that.”

"They have been riding together for a long time and made sure that they shared the stage wins to give them a good chance of winning the team prize,” the 22-year-old added.

Niyonshuti, who won last year’s edition, finished third but gave the Moroccans a glimpse of what he is capable of when he won the mountain climbing category and the U-24 category.

He is expected to report back to his club-MTN Energrade next year.
