9 p.m: WALL-E (English)
WALL-E is the first guaranteed Oscar nominee of 2008. The movie is good, and so entertaining, so sweet and beautiful it takes you completely by surprise. WALL-E is the best animated film of the decade. You’ll need to see it twice, even three times, to fully appreciate just what writer/director Andrew Stanton has done with almost no dialogue and only a 97 minute running time.
Saturday
7p.m: Annapolis (French)
Annapolis” employs all the standard military film gimmicks. Don’t know what to do next? Run out of anything resembling a real conversation? Scream in someone’s face. It happens time and again in "Annapolis” and the filmmakers don’t seem to have been worried that it doesn’t make sense or that their characters’ personality shifts were so blatantly obvious and nonsensical.
9 p.m: Streets of Blood (English)
In New Orleans after Katrina, the partner of Detective Andy Devereaux is found dead and is teamed up with Stan Green. During the investigations, an undercover DEA agent is murdered by two dirty police officers.
