RWAMAGANA – Rwamagana rice scheme that is jointly owned by the government and an Australia company (ICM), has announced a reduction in rice prices, due to increased production.
Théoneste Bikorimana, officer in charge of production at the factory, said they reduced prices to maximize sales.
"One Kg of first class quality rice now costs Rwf580 down from Rwf720 while the second quality rice goes for Rwf480 per kg,” he said. "This makes our prices cheaper than that of other traders.”
Residents, who talked to The New Times, welcomed the price reduction.
