NYAGATARE – A classroom block under construction at Nyarupfubire Secondary School and eight houses in Rwimiyaga sector in Nyagatare district were brought down by a heavy down pour last Monday.

The sector Executive Secretary, George Kabayija confirmed the incident, saying the building was being constructed under the 9-year-Basic Education programme.

‘The classroom was at its completion stage but the heavy rain pulled down the two extreme ends,’ he said.
Kabayija said the sector was working hard to put up temporary shelter for the affected residents.

‘We are mobilising support giving first priority to those who were most affected,’ he said.
