SAMALY Subashish put in a stirring all-round performance as Indorwa bounced back from last week’s defeat against Kigali Cricket Club (KCC) to trounce a short of strength Young Tigers’ side at Kicukiro oval on Sunday.

Subashish blitzed 50 off 34 balls and then picked two wickets in his first two overs to finish off with terrific figures of 2-16.

And although Indorwa’s 146-10 did not look enough, the youngsters finished 43 runs adrift on 103-4.

Rwanda’s opening batsman Eric Dusingizimana hit a valiant unbeaten 57 off 40 balls but there was scant support.

Without key players like Andre Kayitera, Eric Dusabemungu and Bob Songa, Young Tigers were always going to struggle. The result moved Indorwa up in third place while Young Tigers stayed at the foot of the table alongside Right Guards, who are yet to win a game in the 20/20 event.

In the other weekend tie, KCC booked a slot in the final after storming to a third win on the trot. Chasing Challengers’ 141, KCC sailed home with five balls to spare and three wickets in hand after valuable knocks from Imram Moulana (32), Rizwan Pandor (31), Kawa Nadeem (19) and Gopal Reedy (14). Mohammad Jasat took three wickets for KCC.

The win means that KCC are now through to the finals.
