I run
And run up the hill.
Then down another
And up another.
My feet carrying me with speed
My nerves pulsing from under my skin
My every sense alert and screaming out;
Help. Please help.

My body thick with sweat,
Rivers and rivers of sweat running down my chin
All the way to my toes.

I kept on running.
Holding on to slippery rocks;
Then falling on my backside.
Then standing up to run some more.

I run
The ugly animal hot on my heels.
I could smell its rustic smell
I could hear its noisy breath
Its thump on the hard ground.
Its scary cry.
But I kept on running
And it kept on chasing.

Up the hill
Then down another
And up another
For hours
Many hours
An age

Ouch!
Was that a dream?
A scary little big dream?
With a ferocious animal in tore?
Boy!

Ends
