KAYONZA – Nyamirama Gacaca Court has started the trial of three people who are accused of killing a woman, Agnes Mukankubana and her child during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
The Court, presided over by Everest Mutsinzi, heard that Jean Baptiste Kabanda, Felien Bizimana and a third accused woman used a machete to murder the victims.
"Court should not be deceived by these liars [suspects] because there is enough evidence to prove that they killed the woman and her child on ethnic grounds,” Sibomana Rukara, a witness told court.
The trio denied all the charges, arguing that all the witnesses were driven by personal grudges.
Hearing continues on Tuesday next week.
