Rwanda to know Cecafa opponents

THERE’S increasing speculation that Branko Tucak’s days as Amavubi Coach are numbered. Rwanda’s football governing body, Ferwafa will meet this afternoon to decide on who will manage Amavubi Stars at the upcoming Orange Challenge Cup in Kenya.

The tournament which is expected to attract 13 countries will be jointly held at Nyayo stadium and Mumias Sports Complex from November 28 to December 13.

Tucak, 57 looks to have fallen out of favour after his failure of guide Rwanda to next year’s Africa Nations Cup (CAN) in Angola.

Rwanda had a bad qualification campaign after losing four and drawing two of their Group C matches to finish bottom of the group with two points.

Egypt, Algeria and Zambia occupied the top three slots to seal their tickets to Angola.

Meanwhile, Rwanda will no their Challenge Cup opponents this morning. The draws will be held at Orange House in Nairobi according to Cecafa’s Secretary General Nicholas Musonye.

"The teams will know their opponents and the full programme before noon tomorrow,” Musonye told Times Sport.

"Everything is in place and we expect teams to start arriving next Tuesday.”

Kenya Broadcasting Corporation in partnership with South Africa-based pay television channel, Super Sport will broadcast live matches.

It is the first time Kenya is hosting the tournament since1994 when they failed to make the final.
