Rwandair crash victim laid to rest

The only victim of Thursday’s Rwandair plane crash at Kigali International Airport, Azela Nyirangororo was yesterday laid to rest after a funeral service at her home. According to the carrier’s Corporate Communication manager, Michael Otieno, late Nyirangororo’s body was buried on Saturday in Muhanga District in the Southern Province.

The only victim of Thursday’s Rwandair plane crash at Kigali International Airport, Azela Nyirangororo was yesterday laid to rest after a funeral service at her home.

According to the carrier’s Corporate Communication manager, Michael Otieno, late Nyirangororo’s body was buried on Saturday in Muhanga District in the Southern Province.

Nyirangororo died shortly after reaching King Faysal Hospital following the accident.

"The carrier took care of all funeral arrangements and will give the victim’s family some compensation,” said Otieno but declined to divulge the amount of money and when the compensation will be done.

One unnamed passenger who sustained two broken ribs and a punctured lung was also yesterday discharged from the hospital, according Otieno.

After the incident, the national carrier suspended its partnership with JetLink until the situation is cleared. 
With the suspension of JetLink’s two aircrafts, Rwandair now remains with one plane.
