Once upon a time there lived a very beautiful woman called Lindu in the heavens and God was her father. The birds on earth loved her because of her beauty’ and the birds called her goddess.

One time she planned to visit them and decide where to go when the strong winds come.  The birds were so happy they sung songs and kept on flying up and down ‘there comes our goddess’ they screamed.

‘She looks so wonderful sung the nightingale; she is so pretty quacked the duck’.

Lindu loved the birds too.

"For the well being of my beloved friends, we must plan where to go when the bad weather comes; we need to be safe,”Lindu told the birds.

When all the birds had gone Lindu’s worries started. She had become an old woman but she did not have a husband and now she was feeling so lonely with all the birds gone.

A number of gods had seen her and she had become very attractive from time to time she had grown into a gracious woman.     

The first god to come was the sun, he waited for a cloudy day when the sky was all grey and he looked very attractive so he was most welcomed.

‘I have met the most beautiful woman’ the sun said ‘please will you marry me?’ Lindu was so happy to see the sun but she said, ‘I don’t think I will be very happy with you as my husband I love moving around the whole world and you only stay in the sky.

‘But I come in the morning and I go in the evening so we can have fun together as I move around,’ said the sun. Even with that Lindu was not very impressed. The sun went away a very disappointed man.

One time, she had gone to see her friends to plan for the next bad weather when she saw some one she liked so much.

She knew this was the best person she had ever seen. It was the rainbow. He had very beautiful colors and everything about him was so interesting.

Lindu went and told her father about her fiancée and her father was impressed too. They organized for the wedding, her friends the birds made her a very nice dress with their feathers and she looked very pretty wearing it.

The wedding day came and rainbow was no where to be seen.  The people waited for him another day but he still did not come.

On the the third day, Lindu gave up waiting.
She went away and planned for the next bad weather with her friends, the birds.

She vowed never to make any more wrong choices because they only made her happy for some time but never lasted forever.
