Rwanda Women’s Network yesterday marked ten years of its existence during a function held at Hotel Novotel Umubano, Kigali.
The Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Valerie Nyirahabineza said that the government is working very hard to see that women are equally involved in finding solutions to some of the country’s problems.
She hailed the network’s leadership for its programmes, which help poor women by teaching them job creation to fight poverty.
The network’s National Director, Mary Barikungeri, said that they are marking the two-day celebrations with various activities.
The event has attracted guests from the US as well.
Rwanda Women’s Network, a national humanitarian NGO, operates in nine districts in the country.
