Wow! The cover for this week is one of Rwanda’s most celebrated basketball players, who have taken Rwanda to the regional and international basketball championships.
Aime Karim Nkusi, the assistant captain of APR basketball team, is one of the most active and most gifted players of the team.
Nkusi, 26, joined APR basketball team when he was only 14, and his skills and commitment in the game have endeared him to the club’s fans.
The tall, dynamic dude is also Rwanda’s guard. His impressive scoring abilities have in many circumstances helped the nation sail to numerous basketball tournaments. And, Rwanda is currently on the top charts of the regional basketball champions.
Nkusi, credits his former fellow students at Nyarutarama Group Scolaire de don Bosco, and the former coach of APR, Innocent Karambizi, for inspiring him onto the field. Today, he is one of the sports phenomenons that upcoming basketball players can look up to.
He has participated in several tournaments, including the 2007 Africa Nation’s Cup in Angola, the 2008 Africa Club Championships in Tunisia, and in Libya, and not to mention the recent Zone Five Basketball Championship qualifiers both in Ethiopia and Kenya.
Like his fellow celebrities, Nkusi cherishes his social life, and enjoys hanging out with friends in cafeterias.
He is a soccer fanatic too, and also likes watching movies, especially romantic movies and theose based on true life stories.
His favourite dish is rice and meat, whilst his best fashion style is jeans and T-shirts. Nkusi, who is currently single, and apparently not yet ready for any other commitment in form of a relationship, says Carine Umwiza, Rinox Ishimwe, and Emmanuel Uwitoni, are some of the people he loves and treasures in his life.
