Defending champions APR opened their title defence campaign with a 4-1 win over national league newcomers Military Fc at Amahoro stadium yesterday.

Elias Uzamukunda (2), Jabir Mutarambirwa and Jean Marie Vianey Rukundo netted for APR while Yusuf Dukize scored Military’s consolation goal.

APR, chasing a record-extending tenth title in 14 years was assured of the three points soon after Jabir Mutarambirwa equalized for the nine-time league champions to make it 2-1 from a free kick after a foul on Elias Uzamukunda.

In another game Rayon who chasing their only their fifth league crown struggled to over  league debutant Electrogaz with a 1-0 win thanks to Jimmy Gatete goal in Gitarama.

Elsewhere, Atraco beat Police 2-1 at Shorongyi. Kiyovu 2-1 Marines, Kibuye 1-1 AS Kigali, Mukura 1-0 Etincelles.
