Friday:
7 p.m: Centre stage: Turn it Up (French)
All self-taught dancer Kate Parker has ever wanted to do was perform with the American Academy of Ballet. But when she doesn’t make it after auditioning, she learns that it takes more than precision and perfection to succeed in the dance world.

With a turn in a cutting-edge hip-hop club and the help of a good-looking former hockey player, she may just find the passion she needs to make her dreams come true.

Starring Rachele Brooke Smith, Kenny Wormald, Peter Gallagher, Ethan Stiefel and directed by Australian filmmaker, Steven Jacobson.

9 p.m: Wanted (English).
Wanted is a film that makes no bones, no pretences about the fact that it will do anything to get a reaction out of you. It’s loud, vulgar, offensive, violent, cold-blooded, dumb, and silly. But that’s all part of the design.

Russian director Timur Bekmambetov created a flashy, in your face, adrenaline-charged, ultra-violent film with effects the likes of which we haven’t seen since the original Matrix movie.

Wanted is so engrossing, so unrelenting, it’s difficult to find a moment to relax back in your seat and just absorb what Bekmambetov, cinematographer Mitchell Amundsen, and Wanted’s talented cast of action vets and genre newbie’s have created.

7 p.m: 44 minutes de Terreur (French).
44 minutes is a short period of time in the grand scheme of life. On Feb. 28, 1997, 44 minutes must have felt like a lifetime for the LAPD in North Hollywood. It was the day that two heavily armed men walked into Bank of America to rob it, and when they came out, there was not intention of going to jail.

Saturday:
7p.m: Night train
(French).
The ‘Night Train’ thriller is a catching story about two passengers and the conductor. They are all on a night train and a person dies—but his diamonds are here.

And of course they would like to keep diamonds for themselves … they invent an ideal plan how to get rid of the corpse and steal these precious stones. But in a couple of hours they become paranoid.

9 p.m: P.S.I: Love You (English).
P.S.I: Love You  is  based on Cecilia Aherne’s novel about a young widow who discovers her recently deceased husband has left her 10 messages to help her start a new life.

PS. I Love You doesn’t seem much like a comedy and the end result is rather difficult to guess considering one of the romantic leads is dead most of the film. Any variety on the romantic comedy is widely encouraged and hardly ever accomplished.

9 p.m: Hurt Locker (English).
The Hurt Locker is a phenomenal movie whose whirlwind action and terrific performances easily make it a contender come awards season later this year.

The film follows a squad of the Army’s little known Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) division whose job is to disarm roadside bombs on the streets of Baghdad.
