MUHANGA – Local leaders in Muhanga district have hailed Ahazaza Independent School for setting pace and promoting quality education in the district.
Celse Gasana, the District Executive Secretary, said the quality education provided by the school is a sign that there is a bright future for the children.
"The knowledge acquired by our children is evident in their expressions of languages and role plays, this should be an example to all educationists. The district would love to see this school grow into a university,” Gasana said.
He was speaking at a ceremony organised to mark the end of the academic year. The function was attended by the Ombudsman, Tito Rutaremara, Members of Parliament and various leaders and parents.
Gasana asked parents to play a leading role in propelling education for all and in demanding the best for their children.
Raina Luff, the school’s headmistress, revealed that the school intends to complete the construction of the new multipurpose hall and three classroom blocks by the early 2010.
"The construction of the new buildings is an achievement and a promise that the pupils will study under the best environment unlike in the past,” she said
Parents also commended the school administration for improving the education in the area.
They noted that encouraging children to embrace the use of English at tender age will give more chances for their children to compete in the East African Community.
