AFRICA’S top cyclists will descend on the land of a thousand hills next November to compete in the 10th African Continental Road Cycling Championship. Rwanda won the hosting rights after beating off stiff competition from Ethiopia, Ivory Coast and Mauritius.

Next year’s championship will run from November 4 to 8.
The National Cycling Federation (Ferwacy) Secretary General Fetus Rwabusaza told Times Sport that it was a great honor for Rwanda to be selected to host the event and it shows the great strides cycling is taking.

"It is a great honor that the International Cycling Union and the African Cycling Union have entrusted us with this championship. We appreciate the confidence they have showed in us and we now look forward to organizing a big event.”

"This is living proof that we are on the right path,” Rwabusaza added.

In the 9th edition which was held in Namibia over the weekend, Rwanda’s cycling team-Team Rwanda made their presence felt after finishing fourth in the 15-nation championship.

South Africa finished top while Morocco and Namibia came second and third respectively.
