Veterinary dons meet in Kigali

Veterinary experts from fourteen African countries all subscribing to the Science et Medicine Veterinaires (EISMV) University in Senegal are meeting in Kigali to seek solutions to the increasing number of animal diseases that can be transferred to human beings.

Veterinary experts from fourteen African countries all subscribing to the Science et Medicine Veterinaires (EISMV) University in Senegal are meeting in Kigali to seek solutions to the increasing number of animal diseases that can be transferred to human beings.

According to the Minister of Education Dr. Charles Murigande, the experts meetings will be preceded by a ministerial meeting which will focus on improving the veterinary medicine and agriculture in member countries.

This year’s ordinary administrative council meeting is the 38th of its kind and it takes place on an annual rotational basis.

Since the inception of the university in 1968, over 70 Rwandan students have graduated with PhD degrees and it currently has 24 students studying veterinary medicine.
