As a former student of the legal department in the National University of Rwanda, I am thanking the government for putting place a program that helps those who need legal help to get it for free.

Many rural disputes and injustices would have easily been solved if only the residents knew the laws, and how these laws could protect them.

As students who gave free legal aid to a few lucky people, I realized that many people in rural areas had their rights trampled on simply because they didn’t know the law.

That is why I believe that this initiative is so important.
