U-20 2011 World Cup Qualifier
Rwanda v Uganda (Regional Stadium) 3:30pm
ALL roads lead to Nyamirambo this afternoon where the national women junior soccer team will decide their fate against Uganda’s junior She- Cranes at the Regional Stadium.
In the first leg, Rwanda lost to Uganda 2-1 and know that they have to overturn this score to stand any chance of progressing to the next stage.
The team’s head coach Andreas Spier is taking nothing for granted after spending yesterday’s training session taking the team through a penalty session should it come down to spot kicks.
The German born tactician told Times Sport that even if they score first, the team will not sit back and defend the lead but instead take the game to their opponents.
"The team knows exactly what is required of them, and that is to win. Even if we take a clear lead in the match, we shall not sit back and defend.” Spier said.
Playmaker Chadia Uwamahirwe will not feature in the must win tie after suffering a setback on her ankle injury during training on Thursday.
The 14-year-old had been declared fit to play early in the week, but was unfortunate to suffer another set back.
