BRANKO Tucak is ready to do anything to save his job. The Amavubi head coach has summoned APR hitman Abbas Rassou to solve the team’s scoring woes.

The Wasps have managed one goal in five Group C encounters and Tucak sees the proven Cameroonian born forward as the perfect answer to the side’s goal drought.

Rassou joined camp yesterday ahead of next week’s crunch Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Zambia. The decisive game will be held next Saturday at Amahoro stadium.

The striker has shown how lethal he can be infront of goal after scoring twice in APR’s three league fixtures.

Abbas and Olivier Karekezi were expected to start training yesterday. Karekezi, who plies his trade with Ham Kam of Norway, is desperate to make an impact for Amavubi after missing the team’s 1-3 defeat against Algeria due to a thigh injury.

Other professionals expected to add steel to the side include Said Abedi Makasi, who features for Morocco’s Difaa El Jadida, Amavubi captain Hamad Ndikumana aka Katauti (AEL Limassol), Saddou Boubakary (Al Ahly Tripoli), Louis Aniweta (Nea Salamina Famagusta), Jean Paul Lutula (FC Brussels) and Edwin Ouon (AEL Limassol).

Despite managing a point from a possible 15, Rwanda still have a mathematical chance of making it to Angola. Amavubi need to win the Cooper Bullets by a two-goal margin to realize their dream.

Elsewhere, a brace from Emad Meteb and further strikes from Amr Zaki, Mohamed Barakat and Ahmed Raouf earned Egypt a 5-1 victory over Tanzania. The African champions were using the tie as a build-up for Saturday’s top of the group clash with Algeria.

While a draw or 1-0 loss can still push Algeria through to next year’s World Cup, the Pharaohs need to beat their North African rivals by a three-goal margin to secure a World Cup ticket.
