AFTER winning the Marseille Cassis international race, Rwanda’s ace athlete Dieudonne Disi has now shifted his focus to this year’s edition of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon due this Saturday in India.

Disi told Times Sport on Sunday from Paris that he has entered the race with hopes of clinching a fifth gold.
"A fifth gold in Delhi would not be bad but we have to wait and see,” the 29-year-old said.

Disi produced an amazing run to win the 31st edition of the Marseille-Cassis ‘Classique Internationale’ race on Sunday after clocking 1:00:21.

It was his fourth successive gold in a space of four weeks, after victories in the 10,000m in Beirut (29:38.68), a 20km in Paris (59:33) and a Half Marathon in Reims (1:01:13).

In India, Disi will vie for a share of the Rwf119m prize pie.
In 2007, he clocked 1:00:43 to win the Delhi half marathon. Last year, the race was won by Ethiopia’s Deriba Merga after returning an impressive time of 59.15 minutes.

Merga has already tasted success in India in 2009, having won the Sunfeast World 10K Bangalore in May and will certainly be one of Disi’s key challengers. Others include the Kenyan duo of Wilson Kipsang and Wilson Chebet.
