RWANDA’S Amavubi Stars will regroup on November 2, twelve days before their crucial 2010 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers against Zambia.
The country’s football federation, Ferwafa believes that twelve days is enough time for the team to prepare well for the qualifier which will be staged at Amahoro national stadium.
Ferwafa CEO Jules Kalisa also confirmed that professional players have been summoned and should arrive at least five days before the Chipolopolo tie as stipulated by Fifa rules.
Rwanda, which is ranked 114th in the world still has a mathematical chance of making it to next year’s CAN in Angola. Amavubi need a 2-0 win to realize their dream.
Technically, a two-goal victory for Amavubi will leave the sides level on points, bringing goal difference and head to head record between the two teams into play.
Meanwhile, African champions Egypt have tabled a friendly with Tanzania’s Taifa Stars on November 5. The tie will help Egypt prepare for their top of the table clash with Group C champions Algeria.
Both have already qualified for Angola and are now wrestling for that elusive World Cup slot.
