ENGLAND Legend John Barnes has already given Rwanda a glimpse of how expensive it will be to take him on as Amavubi head coach.

Barnes recently expressed his interest in taking over from Branko Tucak but his demands could now force the Sports ministry (Minispoc) to look else where.

Even as Minispoc continues to carefully study his CV, the 45-year-old has already made bizarre demands.

According to reliable sources, on top of a luxury private vehicle (Range Rover, Mercedes Benz or Land Cruiser), Barnes also wants to stay in one of the country’s top hotels.

His salary is still unknown.
Early this year, Barnes took up managerial duties at English League One side Tranmere Rovers, after resigning as Jamaica’s coach.

But the former Liverpool ace was sacked early this month, following a run of two wins from 11 league fixtures.

A distinguished servant of Watford, Liverpool and Newcastle, Barnes’s managerial career suffered a stuttering start at Celtic in 1999 and 2000, which resulted in him working in the media until Jamaica came calling in 2008.

His best managerial career run came as Jamaican coach. He steered the Reggae Boys to the Digicel Caribbean Cup title last December, and was unbeaten in his 11 games at the helm.

During his playing career, Barnes won 79 caps for England and played at two World Cups, as well as the 1988 European Championships.
